Membership or associate membership of the New Zealand Law Society is a prerequisite for Family Law Section membership.
The new membership year starts on 1 July 2024 and is available to all lawyers who hold a current practising certificate. Join now for the 2024-25 membership year and retain your access to a range of services to help you connect, grow, learn and stay informed.
Law Society membership is $290 plus GST and includes membership to one section (Family Law Section, Property Law Section, or ILANZ). Additional Section membership is $100 plus GST.

Family Law Section Associate membership is available to associate members of the NZLS who do not hold a current practising certificate but have a significant interest in family law. Examples of associate members would be retired lawyers; overseas lawyers; present and former members of the judiciary in New Zealand or elsewhere; and legal academics.
