New Zealand Law Society - Waikato New Lawyers Group

Waikato New Lawyers Group

The Waikato New Lawyers is a section of the Waikato Branch of the New Zealand Law Society.

It was established to facilitate collegiality between new lawyers (0-7 years PQE) to help support each other through the transition from Law School to becoming a fully seasoned practitioner within the profession.

We provide opportunities for education, social and networking-based events in both formal and informal settings. These events are typically held once a month throughout the year, and they provide an excellent opportunity to meet other professionals, more experienced legal practitioners, the judiciary, representatives of the New Zealand Law Society and law students.

Our events and other relevant news are updated frequently on our Facebook page and newsletters.

Becoming a Member

In order to be eligible for becoming a member, you must have up to 7 years PQE, although more experienced members of the profession are also always welcome at our events.

Please email waikatonewlawyers@gmail.com to sign up to our mailing list so that you may receive email invitations and updates.

We also have a Facebook group which provides more up to date information regarding our events.

The Committee

The Waikato New Lawyers Group is organised by a committee of representatives from the Waikato area and is administered by the Waikato Branch.

The committee meets quarterly each year to plan events and discuss any matters raised by the members.
