About the role

Are you ready for a new challenge in 2025? Would you like to make a difference and help uphold standards in your profession?

Expressions of interest are sought for a lawyer member on the Lawyers Standards Committee based in the Hawke’s Bay.

Eligibility

To be eligible for appointment as a lawyer member on a Standards Committee you must have practised as a lawyer for a period or periods aggregating not less than five years. You need to be of good character and have the skill, experience and judgment needed to investigate and consider complaints. You won’t do this on your own, you will work collaboratively with others. Meetings are monthly and occur in-person or remotely on occasion. There is reading to do beforehand.

Expression of interest

The Hawke’s Bay Lawyers Standards Committee is particularly seeking expressions of interest from lawyers with experience in the following areas:

  • Estates
  • Family
  • Conveyancing
