If you have concerns about your lawyer, the Lawyers Complaints Service may be able to help.
Practising lawyers have duties to clients under the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006, including having their own internal complaints process and reporting the unsatisfactory conduct or suspected misconduct of other lawyers.
The Lawyers Complaints Service has a number of Standards Committees, independent of the Law Society, that consider complaints. The Lawyers Complaints Service facilitate the administration of the process.
