In-house lawyers who have been nominated for the 2015 CLANZ Awards have been announced. The annual awards are held by CLANZ, the New Zealand Law Society's Section for in-house lawyers.
The award winners will be announced at the CLANZ Annual Conference in Pahia on 22 May 2015.

CLANZ-Chapman Tripp Public Sector In-House Lawyer of the Year

This is awarded to a lawyer who has made a valuable contribution to their organisation and the legal profession through leadership and excellence in the provision of legal services aligned to the organisation's strategic goals, effective team management (where appropriate) or management of external advisors, and innovation and best practice. The winner receives a scholarship package with a value of $5,000 from Chapman Tripp to be spent on development activities for them and/or their team.

CLANZ-MAS Young In-House Lawyer of the Year

This is awarded to a lawyer who has demonstrated their potential as a leading member of the in-house legal profession in New Zealand through excellence in the provision of legal services that have significantly contributed to their organisation's performance, academic ability and the ability to develop knowledge of areas of law not previously practised by the nominee, and leadership potential. The winner receives a scholarship package with a value of $5,000 from MAS to be spent on initiatives that will help them develop their career.
CLANZ-AUT Law School Community Contribution Award
Gretchen Cotter (Senior Counsel, ANZ Bank for her contribution to Southern Cross Junior School), Iain Feist (Senior Solicitor, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment for his work with Makara Park Supporters), Helen Mackay (CLANZ Executive Officer, New Zealand Law Society, for her contribution to the Board of Trustees at Island Bay School), John Steadman (Senior Legal Counsel, Spark New Zealand for his contribution to the Marram Community Trust, NZ Body Arts Charitable Trust, Olympic Park Charitable Trust and Citizens Advice Bureau).
This is awarded to an in-house lawyer who has made an outstanding contribution to the community beyond their "day job". The winner will have $2,000 paid to their chosen cause, courtesy of the AUT Law School.
