The Employment Relations Authority has issued a practice note, "Conduct of Representatives in the Employment Relations Authority".

The note has been issued by Chief of the Employment Relations Authority, James Crichton.

The note states that representatives have the twin duties of assisting their client in pursuing or defending a matter in the Authority, and of assisting the Authority in meeting its statutory obligation to resolve employment relationship problems.

It says in carrying out those duties representatives are expected to be polite and constructive in their dealings with ERA officers, members and other representatives.
