It has been established by husband and wife; Geoffrey and Joanna Beresford, who have each worked for leading Auckland CBD law firms since 2005/2006.

Currently operating from their home office in Auckland and utilising shared working spaces when needed, Beresford Law is very much a law firm of 2022.  It advises a range of private clients including businesses and homeowners.

Joanna Beresford is an environmental, local government, and resource management lawyer. She is responsible for Beresford Law’s environmental practice.  This includes strategic planning for consenting, designations and infrastructure, and environmental enforcement and compliance. 

Geoffrey Beresford is a civil / commercial litigator and is responsible for Beresford Law’s litigation matters. He guides clients through the options that are available to them when civil or commercial disputes arise.  He acts on claims involving actual or alleged building defects, insurance claims, and regulatory investigations of businesses.  He also acts in relation to late or disputed payments and pursues or defends claims for compensation. 

Beresford Law assists its clients to resolve environmental or commercial disputes, which may require representation at Court or the use of alternative forms of dispute resolution, such as mediation and negotiation.
