Buddle Findlay has appointed four staff to senior associate and senior solicitor roles.

Sarah McEwan. 

Sarah McEwan has been appointed senior associate in the Auckland corporate and commercial team.  

Sarah specialises in corporate and securities law with a particular interest in capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. She has worked as a transaction director in the capital markets and loan execution team of one of New Zealand's largest banks.

Sarah has also spent several years working at another major New Zealand law firm and in both private practice and in-house roles in London.

Jessica Heyes has rejoined Buddle Findlay's Wellington office as a senior associate in the public law team.  She specialises in competition, consumer and public and administrative law.

Jessica assists clients in seeking merger clearance from competition regulators, engages with regulators on behalf of clients subject to investigations, and advises on the structuring of commercial arrangements to minimise compliance risks.  

Prior to rejoining Buddle Findlay, Jessica worked in the commercial and regulatory division of an international law firm's Melbourne office.

Nathan Hansen-Thorpe. 

Nathan Hansen-Thorpe has rejoined Buddle Findlay's Auckland office as a senior solicitor in the banking and finance team.  

Nathan has experience in advising lenders and borrowers on domestic and cross-border financings, with an emphasis on acquisition finance, syndicated lending and project finance.

Before he rejoined Buddle Findlay, Nathan worked at an international law firm based in London.

Rachael Balasingam has joined Buddle Findlay's Wellington office as a senior solicitor in the resource management and Māori law team.  

Rachael advises on Resource Management Act infrastructure and planning processes, and local government matters.  

Before  joining Buddle Findlay, Rachael worked in-house for the Office of the Auditor-General and for a large New Zealand firm.
