Guardians of NZ Superannuation appoints General Counsel

The Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation has appointed Craig Douglas as General Counsel.

In this role, Douglas will have responsibility for the Legal function at the Guardians.

Craig Douglas joined the Guardians as Senior Legal Counsel in 2013. Previously a Senior Solicitor at Russell McVeagh, his career has also included roles with Standard Bank in the UK and with Buddle Findlay and Arthur Anderson in New Zealand.

Douglas, who takes up his new role on 10 October 2022, will report to General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Cristina Billett.

Billett says Douglas has been a key member of the Guardians’ legal team for many years and brings considerable international banking, finance and transactional legal experience to the role.

Craig Douglas has a BCom/LLB from the University of Auckland.
