Holland Beckett Law promotes two associates

Holland Beckett Law has announced the promotion of two Associates in their Tauranga team.

Alex Elder – Associate, Property and Commercial 

Alex started his career at Holland Beckett Law in 2016 after studying law and accounting at the University of Otago. Alex has now been promoted to the role of Associate after seven years at the firm. 

Alex specialises in a wide range of property and commercial matters with a particular emphasis on small to medium sized business and commercial property transactions. Alex prides himself on being able to provide pragmatic advice to his diverse client base. 

Alex has served as a trustee on both the Bay of Plenty Youth Development Trust since 2018 and Te Aranui Youth Trust since 2021, contributing legal and governance expertise to both organisations. Alex has also regularly volunteered at the Baywide Community Law Centre and provided pro-bono services to various other charities throughout the Tauranga region.   

Abigail Pearce – Associate, Litigation 

Abigail studied at the University of Auckland and began her legal career at a boutique ACC litigation firm before moving to a large litigation firm. She also holds a Master of Laws from the College of Law specialising in Family Law, which she completed whilst working full-time. 

Abigail joined the litigation team at Holland Beckett Law in 2020, where she specialises in family and employment matters, and has been involved in many of the firm’s significant cases in these areas.  Abigail also has specialist medicolegal knowledge and has worked closely with healthcare providers such as District Health Boards and private medical facilities. 

Abigail also engages in pro bono work with the Baywide and Tautoko Mai legal clinics.
