Wendy Aldred becomes new IPONZ Assistant Commissioner

The Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand (IPONZ) has announced the appointment of its new Assistant Commissioner, Wendy Aldred.

Ms Aldred is a barrister based at Central Chambers in Wellington. Her background is in general civil litigation and public law, and she has appeared before the New Zealand courts at all levels. Before joining the independent Bar, Ms Aldred worked as Crown Counsel at Crown Law, and prior to that was employed in private law firms in New Zealand and London.

Before taking appointment as Assistant Commissioner, Ms Aldred was engaged as counsel in various disputes relating to copyright, patents and trademarks.
