The theme of this year’s ILANZ Conference, Ka Mua Ka Muri – walking backwards into the future – is about fearlessly facing a changing corporate environment both drawing on lessons from the past and being open to new ways of thinking and approaching problems.
The conference is being held at the Energy Events Centre, Rotorua on 25-26 May.
It will explore different aspects of in-house practice – from leadership, and diversity to corporate governance, and alternative resourcing models.
"This year is the 30th anniversary of the ILANZ conference and to honour this occasion we will be taking the best from the past while focusing firmly on the future,” says Conference Director Herman Visagie.
“From the increased use of technology and alternative resourcing models, to the growth in the strategic and general management aspects in many corporate legal roles, it is an exciting time to be working in-house.
“Taking place in Rotorua, a hub of our country’s unique bi-cultural identity, the conference promises to be an exciting chance for innovative thought and challenging discussions that will leave participants with much food for thought to take back to their own organisations."
The conference is expected to attract a broad range of participants and leading practitioners including general and legal counsel, chief legal advisors, compliance and legal managers, Crown counsel, corporate services directors and private law firm partners and senior associates.
