Resources

All library content, and its location, can be found on the Library catalogue on the computers.

The latest law reports and journals are displayed on the shelves by reception.

The Library is divided into four main sections: textbooks, journals, NZ material and Australian, Pacific Canadian and UK material.

Quickfind lists in blue folders on the desks around the Library will help you locate law reports and journals. Titles are listed in alphabetical order along with the library bay where they are shelved. An alphabetical list of citations is also included in the blue folder.

A quick guide to textbook subject areas is available on the wall beside the texts. The Library uses the Moys classification system. The numbering will generally start with KL (Common Law - General), KM (Common Law - public law) or KN (Private law). A set of numbers follows the letters to indicate specific subject areas.

The Law Society Library also has an extensive online collection of databases, some of which are only available from the Auckland High Court location. Three Library computers are available for practitioners to use to access these databases.

A comprehensive internal map of the library is available showing where specific materials and facilities are located
