About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced candidate with a proven track record in litigation, with expert technical knowledge of general commercial litigation and/or a related dispute resolution practice area, demonstrated leadership experience and exceptional communication skills.  Given the firm’s excellent existing commercial litigation practice, it is important that your skill set and client referral base complements this.

You may already be a Partner or be an aspiring Partner having been a Senior Associate, Special Counsel or similar for some time.  Likely you will have gained high calibre litigation experience in a top tier law firm, boutique practice or Chambers of recognised quality.  You will possess a strong client service orientation, be solutions focused, communicative and have a collaborative interpersonal style.  A future-focused approach to your practice and enthusiasm for marketing and business development will ensure you work well with the firm to grow your litigation practice.

What we’re looking for

• An experienced and qualified lawyer with at least 12 years' relevant New Zealand litigation law experience working in a well-regarded firm. You will hold a current NZ legal practicing certificate.
• A client-centric approach with an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service.
• Excellent business development skills, with a focus on building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Sound legal knowledge, solutions focused, and have a collaborative interpersonal style.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build great teams and be a wonderful mentor to less experienced lawyers.
• A commercially minded and pragmatic ideas person with a strategic vision to share.
