Here is a unique opportunity for a senior lawyer with funds experience to undertake stimulating and rewarding work within a collaborative, close-knit team.
Mō te tūranga mahi - About the role
This is a newly created role working alongside and reporting to the Legal Manager, Investments. Together you will form the Investments Legal team and play a critical role advising and assisting ACC’s Investments Group with complex strategic and operational matters regarding the management and investment of ACC’s Investment Fund. The Investment Fund is one of New Zealand’s largest funds and is currently valued at approx. $50 billion. It is designed to meet the future costs of accidents that have already occurred and reduce the risk that future levy payers will have to pay for past injuries.
This role offers exposure to some of the most interesting and unique legal work that exists in New Zealand in the investments sphere. You will advise on a diverse range of issues relating to ACC’s Investment Fund including debt and equity capital markets, private markets, governance, compliance and general corporate and commercial matters. Operating as part of a cohesive and collaborative team, you will build strong relationships with the Investments Group, the ACC legal team and across the wider organisation. The breadth of work is immense with advisory and transactional components and legal, operational and strategic dimensions. There is the opportunity to develop your own areas of interest, and you will enhance your professional development by working with internal and external stakeholders at the top of their professions and participate in global “peer fund” forums.
This is an ideal in-house opportunity for a specialist funds lawyer or either a corporate/commercial or banking/finance lawyer with some exposure to investments law and an interest in developing this further. The role is based in either Auckland or Wellington with flexible working arrangements on offer.
