The New Zealand Law Society Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa and the National New Lawyers' Group have created this guide for lawyers new to the profession in New Zealand. We hope that the information will be useful to you as you start your career in law.
The Law Society is the national regulatory and representative body for the legal profession in Aotearoa New Zealand. As a new lawyer you have additional support from the National New Lawyers' Group, which represents those in the profession with less than seven years’ post-qualified experience. New lawyers who have less than two years' experience receive free membership to the Law Society. Find out about the benefits this gives you.
We wish you all the best for your career.
